Wafi Energy Pakistan Posts 148% Profit Surge, Reappoints Chairperson and CEO

KARACHI: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (WEPL), formerly known as Shell Pakistan Limited, has reported a sharp rise in profitability, posting a 148 percent increase in profit after tax for the latest financial period, alongside key leadership reappointments.

The company announced that Ghassan Al Almoudi has been reappointed as Chairperson for another three-year term with effect from June 16, 2026. In addition, the board has approved the reappointment of Zubair Shaikh as Chief Executive Officer for the same tenure, ensuring continuity in strategic leadership and corporate governance.

WEPL reported a profit after tax of Rs2.16 billion, compared with Rs873 million in the corresponding period last year, reflecting strong operational performance and improved business conditions.

The company also expanded its board, appointing Waheed A Shaikh and Habib Haider as directors. Both appointees bring extensive experience in Pakistan’s downstream petroleum sector, with expertise in fuel retail operations, energy management, corporate affairs, and business transformation.

Wafi Energy Pakistan is a listed company majority-owned by Wafi Energy Holding Limited, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and continues to operate across Pakistan’s downstream oil marketing and retail fuel sector.
